Sadio Mane to be benched? – Predicted Liverpool line-up to face Paris Saint-Germain

A win for Liverpool over Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital will be enough to see them through into the next round of the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds come off a tough 3-0 win over Watford at the weekend, but the result was a little flattering to the away side.

Liverpool were matched well by Watford at Vicarage Road for the first 60 minutes before our quality came through.

PSG have a few concerns regarding Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. The pair picked up injuries during the international break, while reports (h/t Liverpool Echo

) claim Sadio Mane could be a doubt for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp might change things around given we have a tough Merseyside derby against Everton at the weekend, and here is our predicted line-up for the Reds.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian made a couple of quality saves against Watford and needs to be at his best in Paris.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

We would have gone with Joe Gomez as the right-back but Trent was impressive in the weekend’s game and should keep his place in the team.

Joe Gomez (CB)

Gomez should be fit for this clash after missing the Watford game, and he needs to have a quality outing to keep PSG under wraps.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Van Dijk has been excellent for the Reds since he joined, and he will be the man that has to keep our  defence sharp throughout the game.

Andy Robertson (LB)

The Scot was impressive in the win over Watford and there is no reason why he would be replaced in this clash.

Fabinho (CM)

We could see a start for Fabinho in midfield given he has faced PSG numerous times, and Klopp making a minor tweak in his formation.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

With the captain suspended for the Merseyside derby, Klopp could play Henderson in midfield in place of James Milner.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutch midfielder didn’t have a fantastic outing at Vicarage Road, but he is one of our best players this season.

Xherdan Shaqiri (LW)

It was frustrating that Shaqiri could not get a goal or an assist in our win over Watford, but the Swiss was at his creative best on Saturday, and we would need more of the same from him on Wednesday.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

The Brazilian scored the final goal in our win over Watford and would want to repeat his feat from the previous PSG game by scoring the winner.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah could be shifted to his old position on the right-wing as Liverpool look to get all the three points.
