Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claimed Paris Saint-Germain made his team look like “butchers” as the Reds lost to the French club in the Champions League.
The Reds conceded two first half goals via Juan Bernat and Neymar before James Milner pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.
That was not enough to spur Liverpool on and the Reds were reduced to fouling the PSG players which resulted in six players being booked.
PSG had just two bookings and Marco Verratti was lucky to escape a red card for a horror tackle on Joe Gomez.
Klopp spoke after the game and claimed some of the PSG players went down easy (h/t Guardian):
“I know that now the main headline will be ‘Klopp said’ but the number of interruptions in that game was just not cool.
“Two times in a row we won the fair play award in England and tonight we look like butchers after the yellow cards we had. It was clever of PSG, especially Neymar, but a lot of other players went down like it was really something serious and we were not that calm any more.”
The Liverpool manager claimed that we had aggression but not the right kind in this tie.

The Reds know a 1-0 win over Napoli or by a two-goal margin should be enough to take them into the next round. We have to play at our best to have any chance of qualifying as the Italian side already did a number on us a few weeks ago.
