Xherdan Shaqiri to face Everton? – Predicted Liverpool line-up for Merseyside derby

Liverpool won’t have it easy as they play Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday. The Blues come into the game with some good form under Marco Silva while the Reds lost their previous game against Paris Saint-Germain.

Although Liverpool have struggled in the Champions League this season, our Premier League form has been much better.

We are yet to taste defeat in the league, and win should keep us in the hunt for the title. The Reds will have to make one change in the side with Jordan Henderson

suspended, and here is our predicted line-up for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian had a couple of good saves against PSG, and needs to be at his best to keep Everton out.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The Merseyside derby could be a great moment for Trent, and hopefully, he puts up a quality performance.

Joe Gomez (CB)

Gomez should be shifted into the middle of the defence alongside Virgil van Dijk for this clash.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutch defender has to be in top form against the Toffees and he would be looking to keep a clean sheet for Liverpool.

Andy Robertson (LB)

The Scot would be an important outlet for our attack with his crosses but he has to be wary of the threat possessed by the likes of Bernard too.

Fabinho (CM)

With Henderson being suspended, we should see Fabinho start for Liverpool and provide protection for the back four.

James Milner (CM)

It is a toss-up between Georginio Wijnaldum and Milner, but the Englishman should just shade it and start for the Reds.

Sadio Mane (LAM)

Mane knows the value of a Merseyside winner, and the Senegal attacker needs a quality game for the Reds on Sunday.

Roberto Firmino (CAM)

The Brazilian should be shifted to a central role behind Mohamed Salah and Firmino needs to have a good game after a few average performances.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RAM)

The Swiss star got a few minutes off the bench against PSG but should start at Anfield on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah (ST)

We need Salah to be at his best, and a Merseyside derby could see the Egyptian bang a goal or two.
