Liverpool might have to spend big if they want to sign Nabil Fekir, according to Le Progres (h/t Daily Star).
The report claims that the Lyon star’s contract ends in 2020 and it is widely expected that the Frenchman will leave the Ligue 1 giants next season.
However, the Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, won’t let Fekir leave with just one year on his contract and a new offer will be handed to the French attacker to ensure clubs pay a huge fee for the World Cup winner (h/t Daily Star).
Liverpool were linked with a move for Fekir in the summer (h/t Liverpool Echo), however, the deal fell through when an issue was discovered during the medical.
The 25-year-old has helped Lyon to fourth place so far this season but they sit 16 points behind runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Fekir hasn’t been too prolific for the Ligue 1 side this season and only has six goals and four assists from all competitions.
The report adds that Chelsea are also interested in the Frenchman, and it will be interesting to see if any team tries to sign him in January.
The 25-year-old would be a great addition to this side and provide us with a creative midfielder, something we seem to be lacking at the moment.
