“There are plenty of them on the park”: Liverpool star hails the current leaders in the Anfield dressing room

Andy Robertson of Liverpool

Andy Robertson has hailed the leaders in the side as the Reds enjoy a fantastic start to the Premier League campaign. We sit on top of the Premier League with a four-point gap to our nearest rivals and are yet to lose a league game this season.

Robertson, who is the Scotland captain, was speaking about Jordan Henderson’s 300th cap for Liverpool, and praised our captain while also highlighting the other leaders in this team (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“We have a fantastic captain in Hendo. This was his 300th game for the club and that’s a great achievement.

“We’ve got Milly behind him as well and he’s a top pro, everyone looks up to him. Virgil is captain for his country so there are plenty of leaders on the park.

“I’m including Dejan (Lovren) in that as well. The more leaders we have got on the park the better as far as I’m concerned.”

Virgil van Dijk celebrates scoring against Wolverhampton Wanderers

The Scot spoke about how the players deal with arguments on and off the pitch but revealed that the players can deal with problems during half-time or after the game.

“We have spoken together as a team. We do discuss things. We have said that’s it’s about having that honesty between us.

“I think that’s something the lads have done really well since the start of the season. It shows the respect between us.”

Robertson has been excellent for us this season and his comments prove that there are several leaders in the side apart from Henderson and Milner. Virgil van Dijk is the third captain while Sadio Mane

has also captained his national side in a few games.

The more leadership we have, the better it will be for us in the long run as we look to claim a trophy under Jurgen Klopp.
