Jurgen Klopp will allow his players to spend some time with their families on Christmas but the Reds have to report for training too, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds are on top of the Premier League and have a four-point lead over Manchester City. Liverpool next play Newcastle United on Boxing Day and the report claims the players will train at Melwood on Christmas morning but then have the entire day to spend with their families.

The players then have to report for their regular pre-match game base, the Hope Street Hotel in the evening.

The Premier League throws a feast of games for fans during the festive period and left-back Andy Robertson had his say about the upcoming fixtures (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“It’s training in the morning and then we will go home.

“A bit of turkey with the family and then back to the hotel to prepare.

“Christmas is a lovely time to spend with the family but for footballers we don’t get to enjoy it as much as everyone else because we have hundreds of games. We look forward to Boxing Day and the next challenge.”

The Reds face a couple of tough games after the Newcastle tie as we face Arsenal and Manchester City. Liverpool could make a big claim for the Premier League title if they avoid a defeat against the Gunners and the Cityzens and hopefully, we can extend our lead at the top of the table.
