Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Daily Star) claims that AS Roma have entered the race for Borussia Monchengladbach winger Thorgan Hazard.

Liverpool and Atletico Madrid (h/t Daily Star) have been linked with the Belgian, but the report adds that Roma sporting director Monchi is aware that the winger does not want to remain in the Bundesliga.

The report adds that the Serie A giants want to sign the winger in the winter window and then loan him out for the rest of the season to the German side.

Thorgan, the younger brother of Chelsea star Eden, was on the books of the Blues but never played a senior game for the London club.

His time at Monchengladbach has been fruitful this season with 12 goals and 6 assists in all competitions. The Bundesliga side lie third in the league as they look forward to Champions League football next season.

The report adds that Thorgan’s contract ends in 18 months and the 25-year-old is uninterested in extending his stay at the club.

The star is rated at £31m (h/t Daily Star) and he would make a decent signing for us as we look to push on in the Premier League. The Reds have made their best ever start to the season under Jurgen Klopp and a couple of quality signings could take us to the next level.

Thorgan has the ability to play anywhere in the final third, and it will be interesting to see where the Belgian ends up after his time at Monchengladbach.
