Christian Pulisic

The Liverpool Echo has refuted claims that the Reds are interested in signing Christian Pulisic in January.

Reports suggested that the Reds would offer £45million (h/t Liverpool Echo) for the 20-year-old winger as Jurgen Klopp wants to increase his attacking options in the winter window.

However, the Liverpool Echo claims that the German is happy with his options in the team and isn’t looking to sign players in January.

The 20-year-old Pulisic has a contract at Borussia Dortmund till 2020 and the report adds that Klopp was interested in signing him a couple of years ago.

That deal failed but Liverpool have been fantastic this season as they lead the Premier League. Klopp’s men are unbeaten after 20 games and hold a nine-point advantage over second placed Tottenham.

Manchester City could cut into that lead if they win against Southampton, and we face the Cityzens in our next game on Thursday.

Pulisic has struggled to start games regularly for Dortmund this season with Jadon Sancho taking the limelight with his performances.

The 20-year-old only has five Bundesliga starts to his name and has scored just thrice this season.

The American would be a great signing for the club and it will be interesting to see where he lands up after Dortmund.

Klopp has been fantastic with his signings at Liverpool and there is no doubt the Dortmund youngster would thrive under our manager.

The German isn’t someone who likes to spend big in the winter window, and hopefully, we complete the signing of the American before the start of next season.
