Liverpool hold several meetings over winter target wanting €10m per season

French outlet L’Equipe (h/t Daily Star) claims that there have been several meetings at Liverpool regarding Adrien Rabiot possibly heading to Anfield.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and has refused to sign a new deal with the club.

The report

adds that Barcelona were linked with the Frenchman but claimed they were not going to break any rules when signing players from the Ligue 1 giants.

Rabiot is free to speak to clubs from 1 January, and the report adds that the Reds are trying to beat Barcelona to sign the 23-year-old.

The report isn’t clear on whether we have contacted the player or the French club directly but Rabiot’s demands seem to be quite high.

The 23-year-old wants a €10m annual salary, huge signing-on fee and long-term deal with bonuses, as per the report

. It will be interesting to see where Rabiot does end up as his time at PSG seems to be over.

The report adds that Juventus and Tottenham have kept tabs on the 23-year-old and the PSG director told that the Frenchman would not be playing in the remainder of the season (h/t Daily Star):

“The player informed me that he would not sign a contract and that he wanted to leave the club by being free at the end of the season.

“For the player, this will have a very clear consequence: he will remain on the bench for an indefinite period.”

Rabiot is a talent that any top team in the world would want to have but some of his demands seem to be a little high given he didn’t even play for the national team at the World Cup.
