Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir was left out of their squad for their French Cup at the weekend, according to the Mirror.
Fekir was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer, and the report adds the deal fell through after a problem arose during the medical of the Frenchman.
The attacker went on to lift the World Cup with France and remained at Lyon, and the report claims that the 25-year-old was to stay at the Ligue 1 club till the end of the season.
Fekir has just 18 months left on his current deal and the report adds that unless the Frenchman pens a new deal with Lyon, he could be sold in the summer.
The report adds that several other top Lyon players made the trip for the clash against Bourges Foot, and Chelsea are also interested in Fekir.
The Reds could do with an attacking midfielder in the line-up for the second half of the season, but Dominic King recently claimed that the Reds have ended their interest in the Frenchman.
However, we did something similar with regards to Virgil van Dijk and even posted an apology to Southampton before signing the Dutch defender last year.
The Reds were pegged back after their loss against Manchester City but we still hold a four-point lead over the Cityzens.

Hopefully, we can make one or two signings in the winter window and strengthen the side in the race for the Premier League.
