Andy Robertson was one of our best players in the 2-1 loss to Manchester City. The Scot assisted Roberto Firmino for the equaliser in the second half but could not help us get another goal.

The loss for Liverpool cut their lead over the Cityzens to four points, and the Scot believes that nothing has changed for us after the defeat.

Robertson credited the opposition for picking up the win but added that we are still four points ahead of them (h/t Daily Star):

“It doesn’t change anything. And it wouldn’t if we’d won. Of course if we’d won it would have been nice to be 10 points clear of them.

“But we couldn’t have won it (the title) here – and like I say, we have not lost it either.”

City celebrated the win like they had picked up the title, and Robertson had a bit of a pop at them:

“You saw their reaction at the end, they are obviously delighted – but they’ve not won the league either tonight.”

The left-back wanted the team to react now and believed the side could use this loss to their advantage for the rest of the season.

The former Hull City defender is right and our first opportunity to bounce back will come on Monday.

It is a testing away trip against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup, and they have done well against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham too.

We had a fantastic win over them in the Premier League this season, and hopefully, we can start another unbeaten run from Monday.

Liverpool have some fairly easy games over the next 30 days, and we could extend our lead over City again.
