Bobby Adekanye

Serie A giants Lazio have denied they have an agreement with Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye and have claimed they are not negotiating with the winger (h/t Daily Mail).

The Holland youth international joined the Reds from Barcelona in 2015 and has been linked with the Serie A side in the winter window, according to the Daily Mail.

However, a release from Lazio on their website suggests that the club have not started any negotiations for the player (h/t Daily Mail):

“In reference to the news released by some media, according to which SS Lazio have found an agreement with the player Bobby Adekanye, the club denies this and announces that it has not signed any contract, nor has it started negotiations for the aforementioned player.”

The youngster has done well for our youth sides but hasn’t been able to break into the first-team under Jurgen Klopp.

The German provided some minutes to Curtis Jones and Rafa Camacho last night against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the real surprise was seeing Ki-Jana Hoever play more or less the entire game after replacing Dejan Lovren in the Liverpool defence.

Klopp has made it a habit to play the kids in our cup competitions, and Adekanye would have expected to play some role in our Carabao or FA Cup journeys.

However, we exited after just one match in each tournament, and that would be a bit of a downer in an otherwise great season.

Liverpool still have bigger fish to fry with regards to the Premier League and the Champions League. Should we land either of those trophies, our domestic cup woes will be forgotten and forgiven in an instant.
