Liverpool star named CAF African Player of the Year for second consecutive time

Mohamed Salah can celebrate another award after his fantastic season for Liverpool last time around. The Egyptian broke several records as he led the Reds to the Champions League final, and helped Egypt qualify for the World Cup.

The former AS Roma star has been named as CAF African Player of the Year for the second consecutive time. A release from the club adds that the attacker beat off competition from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane to win the title.

There was more good news for Salah and a couple of other African stars at Liverpool. Naby Keita, Mane and Salah were also named in the Best African XI for 2018.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane

The Senegal attacker is one of the most dangerous players thanks to his pace while Keita hasn’t really hit the heights with Liverpool as he did with RB Leipzig.

Salah scored 44 times in all competitions for us last season and has 16 goals to his name so far in this campaign. Liverpool have played a 4-2-3-1 formation several times this season with Salah leading the line.

The Egyptian has helped the Reds to first place in the Premier League, and hopefully, we can celebrate a trophy at the end of the campaign.

The Reds were dumped out of the FA Cup by Wolverhampton Wanderers but we can get back to winning ways on Saturday against Brighton.

Salah didn’t start against Wolves but he should be in line to face the Seagulls and will want to score at the weekend.
