Transfer Market Web (h/t Express) claims that Liverpool are the latest side to have an interest in Serie A youngster Nicolo Barella.
The 21-year-old is an Italy international and has 18 Serie A appearances to his name this season. Barella has been linked with a move to Chelsea, while AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma, Napoli are also tracking the youngster, as per the report.
The midfielder is one of the rising stars in the Serie A, and the report adds that he would look for a starting role in any club he joins.
Barella is rated at £45m (h/t Express) and Inter are trying to complete a swap deal with Eder going the other way.
The Reds were busy in the summer bringing in four quality players, and the report adds that Jurgen Klopp wants to add more creativity to his side.
Liverpool are stacked with several midfielders, but the likes of Adam Lallana and Naby Keita are yet to shine this season.
Lallana has had his injury problems while Keita hasn’t quite adjusted to the Premier League yet. Nevertheless, we are in a great position to pick up the league title sitting four points ahead of Manchester City.

Barella would not be the solution at the tip of the attack, but the youngster can play an attacking midfielder’s role, something that Liverpool don’t really have at the moment.
