December was an incredible month for Liverpool as they won every Premier League game. The Reds even surged to the top of the table and still hold a lead over Manchester City, despite a 2-1 loss in our last league game.
Jurgen Klopp ensured Champions League progress into the knockout stages thanks to a 1-0 win over Napoli in our final group game in December.
The German picked up the Manager of the Month award while Virgil van Dijk was voted as the Player of the Month.
Proud to be named @premierleague POTM December! Thanks to all my teammates, staff and fans! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/6vWcMqS8aP

The Dutch defender was supreme during December as the Reds conceded just three goals in the entire month.
Van Dijk had a hand in some goals scored as well, especially in the Merseyside derby win, and the Dutchman scored his first league goal for us in the 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The former Southampton star has been excellent since signing for us and has only improved with more time at Anfield.
The Reds have been near perfect in the league campaign and a lot of credit goes to Van Dijk and the defence.
We have conceded just 10 goals from 21 games so far, and many Liverpool fans were quick to praise the defender for his efforts.

He’s our centre-half, he’s our number four,
Watch him defend and we watch him score.
He can pass the ball, calm as you like,
he’s Virgil van Dijk, he’s Virgil van Dijk!— Sadik Elgallal (@SElgallal) January 11, 2019
You will be player of the year…I have no doubt.
