Liverpool are still in with a shout of signing Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal, according to David Ornstein of BBC Sport.

The Welsh midfielder is a free agent at the end of the season and the report claims that Juventus are leading the race for the 28-year-old.

Ramsey is free to speak with foreign clubs in January with interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan (h/t BBC Sport).

The midfielder’s boyhood dream was to represent Barcelona but despite preliminary talks have not been fruitful.

The report adds that enquiries have been made by several Premier League clubs and Ramsey’s preference would be a move to Liverpool if he remains in the Premier League.

The midfielder hasn’t made up his mind on which club to join, despite reports suggesting that Juventus is his favoured destination, and will complete the season with Arsenal, according to BBC Sport.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Welshman could be a decent option to have in the side and his versatility would ensure he gets to play somewhere on the pitch.

The Reds are stacked in midfield but Ramsey would provide another dimension in the heart of the park.

Liverpool already have one former Gunner in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and it will be interesting to see how things progress regarding the Ramsey situation.

A free signing would be brilliant for us but Juventus have a history of getting the players they want, on the cheap.

The Italians signed Emre Can from Liverpool on a free at the start of this season, and have bought players such as Andrea Pirlo, Sami Khedira and Dani Alves in recent seasons.
