Sky Sports claims that Liverpool have finally reached an agreement over the exit of Zeljko Buvac, the former assistant manager of the Reds.
The report adds that Buvac had not been at the club since April due to “personal reasons” but remained a Liverpool employee until now.
Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant was part of his staff at Borussia Dortmund too and the German referred to Buvac as the “brain”.
The pair met at Mainz nearly 17 years ago. It came as a bit of a shock when the Bosnian-Serb left the Reds just before our second leg Champions League semi-final clash against AS Roma.
Liverpool reached the final of the tournament but lost out to Real Madrid. This season, Buvac’s role has been taken over by Pep Lijnders. The Dutchman returned to the Reds after a stint with NEC Nijmegen didn’t work out.
The Reds have done pretty well this season even without the influence of Buvac as they lead the Premier League standings.
Liverpool have also progressed to the knockout rounds of the Champions League but their away form in Europe has been questionable.
