German international and Liverpool target Timo Werner will get his wages doubled at RB Leipzig should he sign a new deal, according to Bild (h/t Metro).
The 22-year-old has attracted interests from clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and PSG keeping close tabs on the German.
The report adds that the striker is entering the last 18 months of his contract, and the Reds look “the most interested” in signing the player. They watched Werner in action against Borussia Monchengladbach in December, where he scored twice.
However, Leipzig want to keep the German international at the club and are ready to offer him £5.2million-a-year in wages (h/t Metro).
The report adds that the 22-year-old would then have a release clause of £60m, and Liverpool may have to offer him a similar wage deal if they want to sign him.
The German has been in excellent form for Leipzig this season, scoring 13 times in 22 games. He is one of the brighter talents in the Bundesliga.
Liverpool could do with someone like Werner in their team as he is versatile enough to play on either wing or as a centre-forward. The German has the potential to be world class, and working under Jurgen Klopp could take him to the next level.

The Reds have spent in the last 12 months on players like Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Naby Keita. Hopefully, Werner is the next player to join that list.
