Championship side Hull City are interested in signing Ben Woodburn for the rest of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old Liverpool attacker endured a frustrating loan spell at Sheffield United in the first half of the season. The youngster is back at Anfield after making two starts for the Blades, and the report claims that Jurgen Klopp is open to letting Woodburn leave only if he gets playing time.

Speaking to the club’s website (h/t Daily Mail), Klopp claimed there are a couple of teams interested in the Welsh youngster:

“We have to see. There are a couple of clubs interested, but to be honest if these clubs don’t give me the guarantee that he will play, there is absolutely no reason from my point of view to give him on loan.”

The manager added that he wants players to fight for their chance to impress in the team, and believed a deal could take place at the end of the week.

Staying at Liverpool would not help the youngster’s development, and he would find it tough to play games given the quality of our first XI. The 19-year-old hasn’t played much for Liverpool too. A move to Hull could be the right decision for all parties. The Reds signed Andy Robertson from the Tigers and even sent Harry Wilson on loan there last season.

Wilson has come leaps and bounds at Derby County this season and hopefully, we can finalise a deal for Woodburn too so that he gets regular playing time for the Championship side.
