Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can hasn’t set the world on fire after his free move to Juventus this season. The German has started just eight Serie A games for the Old Lady and hasn’t been able to cement a starting XI spot under Max Allegri.
Things took a turn for the worse as Juventus played Lazio at the weekend. Can scored an own goal and the team had to be rescued by Joao Cancelo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The BBC further reported that Can had 54 touches in the game, just nine more than the Juventus goalkeeper. The German was a decent player during his time at Liverpool and even scored an important goal or two for the Reds.
That overhead kick against Watford practically sealed the top four for us a couple of seasons ago, and it was a bit of a shame that we lost him on a free transfer.
Can isn’t the only former Red struggling, with Philippe Coutinho not starting enough games for Barcelona. The pair’s respective teams are leading their leagues, however, things haven’t been great for either of them.
The Liverpool fans certainly didn’t seem to mind their struggles and some of them even voiced their pleasure at Can’s problems.

Shows you how significant Klopp is in improving and motivating players to stay at that level. Turns out Emre Can is just another Juan Cuadrado. #LFC https://t.co/HoPmQy7O6l

Which player bar Suarez ever improved from leaving #LFC in last 10 years? Look at Coutinho now, shadow of a player he used to be for us.

Dude is overpaid and basically takes a spot of far more capable players we can get at half the price.
