Jurgen Klopp has admitted that there is more to come from summer signing Naby Keita, however, he was happy with the progress of the midfielder so far. The 23-year-old moved to Liverpool this season and started the campaign well with a couple of promising displays.
Injuries and the form of other midfielders reduced his time on the pitch, but Keita has started a few games in the previous month.
The 23-year-old did well in the 1-1 draw against Leicester and should have won a penalty. Klopp was speaking ahead of the clash against West Ham and claimed that Keita is yet to completely adjust to the environment in England (h/t Independent)
“Yeah, happy so far but still a lot to come. Naby is an outstanding player but he still has to improve; minutes, games, language, all that stuff.
“Everything will be fine, and it is fine so far, but we can really expect a lot more still, that’s how it is.”
The Guinea midfielder was a star for RB Leipzig before his move to Anfield, and we have only seen glimpses of what the 23-year-old can do.
The Reds have seen the likes of Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum star in the midfield, and Jordan Henderson has been a regular for the side too.
Klopp provides time for the players to prove their ability on the pitch, and most of his signings have worked out at Anfield.
