Recovering Liverpool starlet highlights how Jurgen Klopp’s plans are keeping him confident

Rhian Brewster

Rhian Brewster has claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s desire to play the youngster in the first-team has given him a boost. The 18-year-old is highly-rated at Anfield and has been suffering from ankle problems for a while.

Brewster was speaking at the Safer Internet Day (h/t Independent) and claimed that his time out has been frustrating, but that was happy to be back for the side. The England youngster also highlighted how Klopp’s plans have been great for his morale:

“To know that the boss really wants me to be in his plans for the future is amazing, especially a boss like him.”

Brewster highlighted that the team could have set him aside to heal in the academy but he was happy to be doing his rehab with the first-team. The Englishman also was glad that Klopp still sees him as a part of the plan.

“During this injury I’ve had that, he has been there from beginning to the end and to know he still wants me – even though it’s been so long – gives me a great boost.”

The striker added that he plans to make his first-team debut this year, if not the next, and could not wait to train with the squad.

Klopp has seen several players pick up long-term injuries during his spell as Liverpool manager, but they seem to be doing alright now.

Danny Ings was sent to Southampton this season, however, Joe Gomez

has held on to become our second-choice centre-back this season before his injury.
