“He has taken the league by storm” – Manager impressed with on-loan Liverpool star’s performances in Scotland

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is doing a great job as manager of Rangers and has seen Ryan Kent

star for the Gers this season.

The English winger joined the Scottish giants on loan from Liverpool, and BT Sport reports that Mark Allen, the director of football at the club, wants to keep Kent next season too.

Rangers lie six points behind Celtic in the league table, and Gerrard claimed that the 22-year-old has proved his ability against the tougher sides this season (h/t BT Sport):

“I have been delighted with his contribution since he walked through the door. On the back of two tough loans he has come here and taken the league by storm so far.

“The challenge for Ryan was, ‘can he produce against the top teams in the league?’ Well he’s now produced against Aberdeen and did against Celtic and is finding consistency in his game.

The former captain added that Kent was happy at the club and that he was enjoying managing the player.

Kent failed to impress in his previous loans, and credit must be given to the youngster for doing well at Ibrox this season.

It will be interesting to see our plans for the English winger next season. Kent could do with more first-team minutes, which would be hard to get at Liverpool.

Gerrard has a real fight on his hands to wrestle the Scottish title away from former Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers. However, it will be a great race until the end of the campaign as long as the Gers are firing under the Liverpool legend.
