Liverpool are in the race to sign Adrien Rabiot but face immense competition from Barcelona, according to the Daily Star.
The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain, and the report claims he will not sign a new deal with the French giants.
Rabiot will be a free agent come the end of the season. He was heavily linked with a £20m move to Tottenham in January. However, that deal could not be completed since the player’s father passed away a few days before the end of the deadline day.
The report adds that the Frenchman’s agent and mother declared there would be no transfer until the end of the season.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is also keeping tabs on the 23-year-old since the Frenchman played under the Spaniard during the latter’s time at PSG. (Daily Star)
Rabiot would be an incredible free signing, even if he hasn’t played much first-team football this season. The 23-year-old is one of the highly-rated midfielders in the French league and would be a great addition to the Liverpool squad.
Rabiot’s last game came in the Champions League tie against Red Star Belgrade in December. He has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the world.

Liverpool made a few quality signings in the previous summer window, and it will be interesting to see whether or not they swoop in for Rabiot in the upcoming summer.
