Adrien Rabiot is set to snub Liverpool and sign for Barcelona in the summer, according to Le Parisien (h/t Mirror
).The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Reds (h/t Mirror), but the French publication claims the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has given a verbal agreement regarding a contract.
The report adds that the 23-year-old will earn £170,000-a-week and will pocket £9m as a signing on fee.
The French midfielder is out of contract with the French giants and has not played for the side since December.
The report adds that the midfielder could be the replacement for Ivan Rakitic as the Croatian is set for a move away from the Nou Camp in the summer.
Rabiot is one of the brightest French players currently, and it is a bit of a surprise as to how things have played out at PSG regarding the midfielder’s contract.
Liverpool could have done with him joining for a relatively modest signing on fee, and the Frenchman could have developed into one of the best in the world under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have several midfield options currently but Adam Lallana has struggled with injuries and for form for the last two seasons.
