Latest Liverpool news: Xherdan Shaqiri shares his dream XI which features two Liverpool stars
Xherdan Shaqiri has shared his dream XI and has included more players from Bayern Munich than his current club Liverpool.
The Swiss only signed for us in the summer but seems to have a soft spot for the Bundesliga giants. Shaqiri left Bayern for Inter Milan before joining Stoke City where he did a pretty good job.
The Alpine Messi won several trophies at the Bundesliga giants and in an interview with Sport1 (h/t Metro), the attacker shared his dream XI.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi play on either side of Robert Lewandowski in the attack. The midfield trio sees Luka Modric and Thiago Alcantara star ahead of Toni Kroos.
The back-four sees Liverpool stars Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk star alongside Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal.
German keeper Manuel Neuer is between the sticks in Shaqiri’s team.
No place for one big Liverpool name
The glaring omission has to be that of Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian has been spectacular since signing from AS Roma.
The Egyptian won the Golden Boot last season and is in the race for the same this season too.
Robertson and Van Dijk have been excellent since they joined the club, and it speaks volumes about the Scot as he is put into the team ahead of David Alaba, who Shaqiri played with.
Shaqiri hasn’t been able to break into the starting XI regularly this season but has done a decent job off the bench.
