Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds put off by Joao Felix’s asking price
Joao Felix is one of the hottest properties in Portuguese football and has been linked with a move to Liverpool (h/t Mirror).
The Reds had seen a winter window bid rejected by Benfica for the 18-year-old, and the Mirror claims the chase for the midfielder is going cold.
The report adds that Liverpool have been put off by Benfica’s asking price of £90million as other top European clubs chase the youngster.
Felix has been exceptional for Benfica this season having scored nine goals from 25 appearances in all competitions.
The youngster only made his debut for the senior side this season, and already seems to be a crucial part of Benfica’s side.
Paying over the odds for Felix
The youngster might be one of the best talents in world football now, but paying £90million seems a little excessive given we got quality players such as Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Fabinho and Naby Keita for less than that value individually.
Felix could be a decent signing under Jurgen Klopp and it will be interesting to see what transpires with the 18-year-old in the coming months.
The Reds have done very well so far this season with most of Klopp’s signings doing well. Van Dijk and Alisson have been excellent but Fabinho has come into his own in recent months.

Naby Keita has also shown glimpses of his ability, and hopefully, we finish the season with a trophy.
