There wasn’t much to talk about from the clash at Old Trafford apart from the injuries in the first half and Liverpool
missing a chance to put Manchester United to the sword. The Reds were poor in attack and even with a disjointed team, it was the Red Devils who had the better chances.
However, despite the drab draw there was something to celebrate for Alisson as he equalled a record last achieved by Pepe Reina in the 2009/10 season (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The clean sheet was his 15th of the league campaign, and Reina was the last keeper to achieve that feat. The Spaniard kept 17 clean sheets under Rafa Benitez in that season, and Alisson could end up bettering that as we have 11 more games to go in the Premier League.
The Brazilian has had a fantastic season with a few scary moments in between. However, he was quick to thwart Jesse Lingard in the first half and did well to recover the ball too.
The Reds could have been three points clear of Manchester City by defeating United, but one point is better than nothing against a resurgent Red Devils team.
Alisson could still have a major role to play before the season ends as his clean sheets should help us win more games.
