Liverpool FC transfer news: Manchester United make contact with Portuguese player linked with Liverpool
A Bola (h/t Mirror) reports that Manchester United are interested in Sporting Lisbon’s midfielder Bruno Fernandes and have made contact with his agent.
The attacking midfielder has been exceptional for the Portuguese side this season with 22 goals in all competitions.
The report adds that the Reds are keeping tabs on the Sporting captain and the midfielder has a release clause of £90million.
Sporting are in financial trouble, according to the report, and they could be open to selling their captain for a large transfer fee.
Should other clubs also be interested in the midfielder, we could see a bidding war for the 24-year-old.
The club also sold several players in the summer due to off the field issues, and it is to be seen what happens to the Portuguese in the summer.
Liverpool could do with an attacking midfielder
The Reds have several options for their midfield but what they lack is a player who scores goals from the centre of the park.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the player who provides us with that element, however, he is recovering from a long-term injury and could play some games this season.

Fernandes seems to be a player that could do well but his asking price seems a little steep. Liverpool spent huge in the previous summer and it could be an interesting transfer window come the end of the season.
