Jurgen Klopp urges Liverpool to push forward from great position in the table and “use that” on the field

Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp wants side to push on from fantastic position

Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to push on after returning to the top of the Premier League with a draw at Manchester United.

The Reds weren’t great at the weekend, and even after dominating possession, we barely threatened the United defence.

The 0-0 draw followed the same scoreline against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and our next clash is against an in-form Watford on Wednesday.

Although the Reds dropped points in draws with Leicester and West Ham, Klopp was content with the point at Old Trafford (h/t Liverpoolfc.com):

“Absolutely. That’s completely OK.”

The German was open to the fact that United were there for the taking but the Reds could not do the job on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp celebrates

The manager also spoke about how there were talks of the Reds not scoring against Bayern and United but added that they were world-class teams.

Klopp went on to say that such situations have happened to other sides too and it is up to Liverpool to push on.

“The situation is like it is. In the table we are in a very good position and now we have to make sure we use that on the pitch.”

Looking for Anfield support

The away support was great at Old Trafford and Klopp claimed that the home fans can egg them on in midweek.

Watford are dangerous to face and we have to be at our best to ensure the three points come our way.

There are 11 games remaining in the Premier League season and we need to perform better than Manchester City to clinch the title.

That is easier said than done given the form of the Cityzens in recent weeks. However, if we can tap into the all-out attacking play from last season, we should demolish most sides that we face.
