Tuttosport (h/t Mirror) claims that Liverpool are to battle Manchester United for the signing of Real Madrid’s Isco. The Spanish superstar has found goals and games hard to come by under Santiago Solari, and the report
claims he is expected to be offloaded by the Madrid giants. The report adds that Juventus are also monitoring the situation of the Spaniard. The Italians are interested in reuniting Isco with Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester City are also being linked with the attacking midfielder (h/t Mirror).
Philippe Coutinho was sold to Barcelona last season, and the report claims that Isco would be a direct replacement for the Brazilian at Anfield.
Isco is under contract until 2022 and despite having a large release clause, the report suggests he will be allowed to leave for much lesser.
Isco would be a decent choice for Liverpool given his exploits for Real Madrid, however, the Reds were close to signing Nabil Fekir last summer.
A deal fell through after the medical (h/t Liverpool Echo) and the Frenchman has been in excellent form for Lyon.
The 25-year-old has 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season and played a huge role in Lyon’s 5-1 hammering of Toulouse at the weekend.
Jurgen Klopp made some big signings in the summer and many Liverpool fans wanted Fekir to join the Reds instead of the Real Madrid star.
