Latest Liverpool news: Some fans in awe of Nabil Fekir’s recent performance

Nabil Fekir was one of the players linked with Liverpool in the summer. The Frenchman was close to joining the Reds (h/t Liverpool Echo) but the deal fell apart after the medical. Liverpool didn’t sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, and it seems to be hurting us now.

The Reds lack creativity in the midfield and it was on show at Goodison Park. Liverpool recorded another 0-0 draw after their stalemate against Manchester United, while Fekir was in great form for Lyon at the weekend.

Goals and assists flying in from the Frenchman

The World Cup winner has helped Lyon to third place in Ligue 1 this season. Fekir has 12 goals and 7 assists in all competitions and scored one in the 5-1 thrashing of Toulouse. The 25-year-old even assisted a couple of goals and seems to be in great form for the Ligue 1 giants.

Liverpool should have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returning to the first-team soon to help our midfield problems. However, we have lost out on the massive advantage we had over Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Cityzens now lead the table by one point and they seem set for another title. Some Liverpool fans pointed out the fact that we didn’t sign an attacking midfielder, and highlighted Fekir’s recent performances too.
