Latest Liverpool news: Fans sent down memory lane with Ragnar Klavan’s late winner
The Liverpool Twitter account decided to share one of the best memories regarding a former defender on Throwback Thursday.
Ragnar Klavan wasn’t a Virgil van Dijk or even Joe Gomez in terms of defensive ability, but the Estonian always gave it his all on the pitch.
Klavan wasn’t the most expensive signing that Jurgen Klopp made at Anfield, but he still did a good job in certain games.
The former Augsburg star was sold to Cagliari at the start of last season but did score one goal in his Liverpool career.
That came last season in a last-gasp win over Burnley, who will be our opponents at the weekend.
The goal was something special too as Dejan Lovren assisted the goal. Klavan ran onto a knock down by the Croatian and was brave to throw himself into the goal net too.

Liverpool have better defenders now
Van Dijk has been one of the best signings in the Premier League era. The Dutchman exudes quality throughout his time on the pitch, and he seems to have a positive effect on players surrounding him too.
The Dutchman would be looking to keep another clean sheet against the Clarets on Sunday. However, the video was another reminder of Klavan’s fearlessness and many fans tweeted that they missed the Estonian.
