The BBC reports that the Premier League is also investigating leaders Manchester City for allegedly breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
The report adds that UEFA are already looking into these claims regarding Manchester City, and the Premier League leaders claim that all the allegations are “entirely false”.
The German paper Der Spiegel released a set of claims on the basis of leaked documents, alleging that City had broken FFP rules.
The BBC report adds that one of these claims also suggested that the Cityzens made a banned payment of £200,000 to Jadon Sancho’s agent when the English youngster was just 14.
The report adds that FIFA, UEFA and the Premier League have all investigated the English leaders over allegations that they broke third-party ownership rules.
City have been guilty of FFP previously and received a fine of £49m, with £32m being suspended, and their Champions League squad was reduced for the 2014-15 season (h/t BBC).
It will be interesting to see how things progress regarding their alleged breach, and many Liverpool fans were hopeful of them picking up a huge punishment.
We trail the Cityzens by one point in the Premier League, and with nine games to go, there is a chance of us overtaking them if they make a mistake.
The Reds haven’t been in winning form recently with several draws, however, many fans were expecting something big coming up against City.
