Latest Liverpool news: Fans praise Adam Lallana for performance against Burnley
Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino might have scored the goals for Liverpool in their 4-2 win over Burnley, but there was one surprise in the starting XI.
James Milner was injured and we could have started Xherdan Shaqiri or Naby Keita. However, it was Adam Lallana who was given the nod in the crucial game.
The Englishman has had his ups and downs this season, and It was a bit of a surprise seeing him pick up his fourth start in the Premier League.
Liverpool also were put on the back foot after Burnley scored early on but Roberto Firmino equalised in the first half.
Reds energetic throughout the game
Liverpool’s energy in the game was impressive and Lallana had a role to play in our second goal. The Englishman pressurised the Burnley defence and his tackle helped the ball onto Mohamed Salah’s path.
The Egyptian was tackled and Sadio Mane calmly curled his effort straight into the net to give us a 2-1 lead.
Firmino scored to make it 3-1 before some tense moments as Burnley made it 3-2 in the dying seconds. However, Mane got the final goal of the game and we can now think of Bayern Munich.
Lallana didn’t score or assist any of the goals, but the Englishman did a great job in the midfield.
He was full of energy and running, and some Liverpool fans felt that Jurgen Klopp was justified in picking the Englishman for this clash.
