Jordan Henderson against Bayern Munich

Latest Liverpool news: Fans react to Jordan Henderson’s injury against Bayern Munich

Liverpool ran out comfortable 3-1 winners over Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie.

The win took us into the quarter-finals, and we created the better chances as Sadio Mane scored a brace and Virgil van Dijk got a goal in between.

Joel Matip had scored an own goal to make the score 1-1 but we scored two in the second half to leave Bayern reeling.

An early sub for Liverpool

Our midfield featured Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum but the captain had to be replaced early in the first half after picking up an ankle problem.

Fabinho came on and put in an assured performance, though he did get booked in the tie.

Jurgen Klopp spoke about the skipper’s injury and wasn’t happy with the injury. The German further claimed the Reds would have to see how things go with the midfielder (h/t Liverpoolfc.com):

“It’s Hendo so he’s a hard one, but we have to see, of course. It looks hopefully not that serious but for tonight we had to change.”

The German lamented that the team had planned playing Hendo in a certain manner, and they had to make a change as the fresh legs of the captain could not continue on.

The Reds still put in a great performance and we will strike fear into the other contenders for the Champions League.

However, many fans weren’t all that fussed about Hendo being out and were happy with the performance of the side.
