Liverpool put out a quality performance in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.
The Reds came into the game after a 0-0 in the first leg, and Bayern had the advantage of playing at home.
However, Sadio Mane’s brace and a towering header from Virgil van Dijk sent Bayern packing. The Reds made it four Premier League clubs into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Liverpool conceded one goal in the tie and that was due to a mistake from Andy Robertson. The Scot didn’t track Serge Gnabry and the winger crossed into the box.
Joel Matip could not sort his feet out and he scored into his own goal.
The Scot is still one of the best left-backs in Europe and he did pretty well after that mistake.
Robertson has 10 assists in all competitions, and even had a great chance to score with Manuel Neuer saving well in the first half.
The Scotland captain shared a photo of the team and was pleased with our progress in the competition.
There was one sour note for the 25-year-old as he picked up a yellow card in the 92nd minute. The left-back will miss our quarter-final first leg due to suspension.
Many Liverpool fans were pleased with the performance of the Scot, however, they were upset he would miss the first leg of the next round.
