Latest Liverpool news: Sadio Mane becomes Liverpool’s record CL away scorer after brace
Sadio Mane became the outright highest away goalscorer for Liverpool in the Champions League/European Cup after his brace against Bayern Munich.
The Senegal star scored his sixth and seventh away goals for the Reds in the Champions League against the Bavarians and ensured we made it into the quarter-finals.
The former Southampton star tied Roberto Firmino and Steven Gerrard with six goals after his first, which was a beauty.
He then sealed the win with a diving header late in the second half as the Reds marched on.

The record comes within two Champions League seasons for Mane, and that is a great feat.
Milner doing his bit for the Reds
James Milner might not have gotten a goal against the Bavarians but he assisted the all-important second one.
The game was tied at 1-1 when Milner delivered a great corner for Virgil van Dijk to head in. The Englishman has been the assist king for the Reds in Europe and Opta highlighted an interesting stat after the game.

Milner had a wonderful campaign last season as he helped us reach the finals, and if we keep performing at this level, we could repeat that feat this time around.

The Reds don’t have a lot of time to celebrate as our next game is against Fulham. A win against the Cottagers would take us above Manchester City in the Premier League, but the Cityzens would have a game in hand.
