Latest Liverpool news: Liverpool fans happy with draw against Porto in Champions League
Liverpool were handed the best possible draw when compared to the other English sides in the last eight of the Champions League.
The Reds overcame Bayern Munich in the previous round and there was a chance of an all-English quarter-final.
Fortunately, Manchester City were drawn against Tottenham this time. Manchester United also don’t have it easy as they face Barcelona.
Should Liverpool progress past Porto, we would face the winners between the United-Barcelona clash.
Memories from last season return
Liverpool played Porto over two legs last season and came out 5-0 winners on aggregate. The first leg was away last time around and we hammered them 5-0,however, we play at home first on 9 April.
The second leg would be on 17 April in Portugal, and we should be the favourites in this tie.
Porto cannot be taken lightly as they are still one of the best sides in Portugal, and it will be interesting to see how we cope without Andy Robertson in the first leg.
The Scottish left-back picked up a yellow and will be suspended for the home leg. Liverpool could also have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back for this tie as he continues his return from injury.
This was still a great draw given the circumstances and many fans were pleased with the outcome.
