Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp claims Reds won’t spend huge in the summer

Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Liverpool won’t be spending huge in the summer and wants to develop the players he has at hand.

The Reds were busy last summer signing Alisson, Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Naby Keita, however, the German was happy with the players at his disposal.

Speaking ahead of the clash against Fulham, the German believes he can keep the current squad from leaving the club too (h/t Sky Sports):

“I don’t want to talk exactly what we will do, but I don’t think this is a team at the moment where we have to spend the big money or whatever.

“The best way to do it is bring together a group of players, try to develop them altogether and then stay together for a while.”

Keeping the best players

The Reds have had their issues in the past with the likes of Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso and Philippe Coutinho leaving for greener pastures.

However, Klopp was certain of keeping the same squad and was confident no one will be sold.

“That was maybe the main problem of Liverpool for the last decade. When they had a good team after a season they went all over the world. That will not happen this year for sure.”

The Reds have been exceptional under Klopp and we are a force both in England and in Europe. We beat Bayern Munich in the round of 16 in the Champions League and are just one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League.
