Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp thanks Beckenbauer for praise but happy at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has claimed he loves working with Liverpool and has much to prove at the club.

The German has been praised by legend Franz Beckenbauer as the former player wanted him at Bayern Munich.

The Liverpool manager was happy with the praise from the German legend but was concentrating on the job at hand (h/t Sky Sports):

“There is no bigger legend in Germany than Franz Beckenbauer.

“It feels great he speaks positively about me. It is just like the king with his sword calling a man ‘sir’.”

The manager then added that Bayern haven’t made many mistakes in the last 10-15 years but felt like a good fit at the Reds.

Klopp added that he loved it at Anfield and was confident suggesting he was the right man for the club.

“I love it here, there are lots of opportunities to develop an already really good team. I have enough confidence to say I am the right manager for Liverpool at the moment, though in football we all constantly have to prove ourselves.”

Reds rising under Klopp

Klopp did a wonderful job at Borussia Dortmund winning two Bundesliga crowns and the only thing missing from his time at Anfield is a trophy.

The Reds have come close thrice during his spell here but have lost all three cup finals. We have progressed well in the Premier League too, improving with each season under Klopp.

The German has improved most of the players at the club, and this is possibly the best Premier League side we have had.

Klopp has a lot of work still to do here and thankfully, he seems to be sticking to the Reds for the foreseeable future.
