Liverpool FC transfer news: Isco scores for Real Madrid on his return under Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane returned to save Real Madrid’s season after the La Liga giants struggled under Julen Lopetegui and then Santiago Solari.
The Frenchman left the Spanish side before the start of the season and saw Madrid beat Celta Vigo 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Isco has been one of the stars struggling at Madrid this season. The Spaniard only had one La Liga goal coming into this clash.
Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in the 26-year-old, according to Tuttosport (h/t Mirror) and Isco got a start against Celta on Saturday.
Surprising stars lead Real to win
Isco was given his first start since the Copa del Rey loss to Barcelona in January. The Spaniard scored in the 62nd minute as he helped Real to an important win.
Another player who has struggled at the club, Gareth Bale, was the other scorer for the La Liga giants. Zidane has a tough job on his hands and it will be interesting to see how he deals with the players at Madrid.
The Frenchman replaced summer signing Thibaut Courtois with Keylor Navas too. Isco would be a great addition to the Reds, however, him finding his boots under Zidane might increase his chances of staying at Madrid.
