Latest Liverpool news: Some fans want Ryan Babel back at club after goal for Fulham
Ryan Babel spoke about knowing Virgil van Dijk’s weakness and the former Liverpool star scored in Fulham’s 2-1 loss to the Reds.
It seemed like our former star was going to put a major dent in our Premier League title hopes, but James Milner came up with the all-important winner from the penalty spot.
Babel spent a few years at Anfield but never fulfilled his potential. The Dutchman has played in Germany, Turkey, Spain and the UAE since he left Anfield.
The Fulham star got in between Van Dijk and Alisson in the second half and slotted the ball into an empty net.
Babel is still a Red inside
Babel did not celebrate the goal out of respect for Liverpool, and the Dutch attacker still sports a red hairdo.
The 32-year-old can still do a job on the pitch and it will be interesting to see where he ends up once his Fulham spell ends.
The Dutch attacker has two goals and two assists from nine Premier League games since he left Besiktas for Fulham.
It almost seemed set for him to cost his former club, but we came out with all three points from Craven Cottage.
Many supporters praised Babel for not celebrating the goal against us, while some even want Liverpool to sign their ex-player.
Ryan Babel was one of my favourite players to wear the LFC shirt growing up and yesterday’s celebration showed why! #redforever

I’d actually take Babel over Sturridge! Plus he loves Liverpool! (Not gonna happen obviously lol)

Gotta love Ryan Babel. Dude did not want to score that goal. It’s mad how amazing connection ex players have with our club even if their stints with us were not all that successful or long.

Based on his pace & movement today, I’d resign Babel in the summer to pad the squad out. He definitely moves better than Sturridge. He’d be a good squad player for #LFC next season imo.

Ryan Babel is a red. The look on his face when he had to tap the ball in. #LFC

Time to sign Ryan Guno Babel on a 20 year contract!! @LFC
Too risky having the man out there sharing Big Virg’s “secret weakness”. 😑— Salahmander (@nova_stine) March 17, 2019
Anyone else think #lfc should sign this new guy Ryan Babel?
