Latest Liverpool news: Trent Alexander-Arnold returns to Reds from England duty

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled out of the England side ahead of the games against the Czech Republic and Montenegro.

The English youngster has returned to Liverpool to continue his rehabilitation, and a release by the FA confirmed that the defender was carrying a back injury ahead of the international games:

“The right-back arrived nursing a back injury and, despite progress in recent days, it was unlikely he would be able to play a role in the forthcoming UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers.”

Alexander-Arnold was part of the England side that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup and has played 31 games for club and country this season.

Liverpool need their players fit for the remainder of the season

Hopefully, the injury to Trent isn’t serious and he will be fit for the game against Tottenham on 31 March.

The Reds are leading the Premier League by a couple of points but Manchester City have a game in hand on us.

We need all our players to be fit for the remainder of the campaign as we also face Porto in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Englishman is a crucial cog of the team and his crosses have been devastating in certain games this season.
