Liverpool FC transfer news: Real Madrid could offer Raphael Varane for Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as part of their summer revival, according to the Guardian.
Zinedine Zidane returned to the club after leaving just 10 months ago, and the report claims that the La Liga giants are also interested in Eden Hazard and Christian Eriksen.
Real are expected to move for one of the three players, and the report claims that they could entice Liverpool by offering French defender Raphael Varane in the deal for Mane.
The 25-year-old defender has decided that he wants a new challenge, according to the report, and could be thrown into the deal to get the Senegal star to Madrid.
A tough situation for Liverpool
Varane is one of the best defenders in the world and has at least half a decade of quality football left in him.
The Frenchman has been excellent at Real over the years and landing him would be quite a coup for the Reds.
Our defence is already world-class with Virgil van Dijk doing his bit, and Varane playing alongside him would make it harder for the opposition to score past us.
However, that should not come at the expense of Mane. The Senegal star is having a fantastic season for the Reds and is leading our Premier League and Champions League charge.
The 26-year-old has 20 goals in all competitions for the Reds and is just one behind Sergio Aguero in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot.
Some Liverpool fans were certain a pairing of VVD and Varane would be great, however, they did not wan’t to lose Mane in the deal.

No problem instead of Mane he can have Sturridge/ Moreno and on top of that Lovren, fair deal, Mane ain’t going anywhere we can also do a loan swap with Origi for either James Rodriguez or Gareth Bale
