Liverpool FC transfer news: Barcelona prepare €50m bid to sign Serbian forward Luka Jovic
The Guardian reports that Barcelona are preparing a €50m bid for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic and expect to start negotiations with the Bundesliga side in the upcoming weeks.
The Serbian has been excellent for the Bundesliga side this season and has been linked with Liverpool too.
The 21-year-old joined Frankfurt on loan from Benfica, and the report claims that the German club have agreed to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Frankfurt would want between €65m and €70m for the 21-year-old, according to the Guardian.
The report adds that Eric Abidal and Ramon Planes of Barcelona watched the striker in action against Inter Milan in the Europa League.
Frankfurt knocked Inter out of the competition with Jovic scoring the only goal of the game at the San Siro.
The Germans lie fifth in the Bundesliga table and are one point outside the Champions League places.
A striker in brilliant form this season
Jovic has 22 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga side this season and is capable of playing as the main striker or just behind the forward.
The 21-year-old would be an excellent signing for Liverpool and provide competition to Roberto Firmino for the forward’s position in the XI.
