Liverpool FC transfer news: Joao Felix prefers La Liga over the Premier League

Benfica youngster Joao Felix had been linked with a move to Liverpool earlier in the season.

The 19-year-old is one of the brightest talents coming from the Portuguese league, and Marca reports that several of Europe’s biggest clubs are “tracking” the forward.

Felix has found the back of the net 10 times from 18 league games this season and also has four assists to his name.

The Benfica star scored in his last game against Moreirense, and Marca sat down with the talent and questioned him on several aspects.

Felix claimed that former stars Kaka and Rui Costa were his idols and was asked about his future. The forward was asked which league attracts him more, the Premier League or La Liga, and he replied (h/t Marca):

“The Spanish.”

A big asking price for the 19-year-old

The interviewer further asked Felix about his release clause being €120m (h/t Marca) and how this figure could be “ludicrous”. However, Felix claimed this was not an issue for him to look into and wanted to concentrate on his football.

“Perhaps yes. But I do not understand the market or values, that is an issue for representatives and presidents. I limit myself to playing.”

The forward was also asked about being linked to some top clubs in Europe, and the 19-year-old claimed that his dream was to play for “big teams” but he was happy at Benfica, who he considered as one of the biggest teams in Europe.
