Liverpool FC transfer news: Marko Grujic wants to stay at Hertha Berlin beyond this season
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic wants to stay at Hertha Berlin after this season but admits that the Reds have the final say on his future.
The Serbian joined Hertha on a season-long loan and has impressed in the Bundesliga. Pal Dardai praised Grujic as being the best midfielder he had seen at the club in more than 20 years, despite the 22-year-old picking up an ankle problem.
The midfielder was asked by Bild about his future and if his time in Berlin was coming to an end, to which he replied (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“I hope not! Because I feel very comfortable in Berlin.
“Hertha gave me the great opportunity to play in the Bundesliga.
Grujic added that his time at Hertha has been great, despite the injuries and added that he would want to stay at the club for a couple of years. The Serbian did concede that Liverpool hold the cards regarding his future:
“Ultimately, it’s not up to me. But if I could choose myself, I would stay with Hertha for another year, or maybe even two years, to make a very good name for myself by improving all my qualities. And that’s only possible if you play in every game. “
Interest from other European giants
The Liverpool Echo adds that Galatasaray and Lazio are interested in the midfield. The Serbian also spent time at Cardiff last season as he helped them gain promotion to the Premier League.
Grujic was asked if he would have loved being part of our title challenge, and he answered in the affirmative. However, the Serbian added that for his development, it was more important to play games.

The 22-year-old concluded as he was concentrating on the season with Hertha and wanted to see how things develop in the summer.
