Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is eyeing a return to the Liverpool first-team after missing all of the season so far.
The former Arsenal midfielder injured his knee against Roma last season in the Champions League and has been on the road to recovery since.
The 25-year-old took a huge step when he played against the Derby U23s recently. The midfielder also took part in a training regime in Dubai and shared a snippet of his time there.
The video highlights how much work the Ox has been going through to get into shape. The youngster picked up a minor knock when he returned against Derby but that wasn’t a major problem.
The Englishman was in high spirits regarding the tough workload and wanted to come back stronger than ever (h/t Mirror):
“If I make it through these sessions here I should be able to get through it back home even easier, that’s the whole idea.
“I’d rather work hard now and feel better for it when I’m back than not work hard enough now and regret it.”
Liverpool need all the help they can get till the end of the season. The Reds are in a battle with Manchester City for the Premier League title and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp expects the Ox to play some games before the end of the season. The English midfielder’s return could be that extra boost we need to pip City to the Premier League crown.
The Ox should not be rushed into making his return to the side, but all signs point towards the Englishman getting some minutes soon.
