Latest Liverpool news: Ben Godfrey helps Norwich stay top of Championship with win over Middlesbrough
Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, who has been linked with Liverpool, has shined for the Canaries.
The 21-year-old English defender has been excellent at the back for the Championship leaders this season. Godfrey has even chipped in with three goals and two assists, and has been played as a left-back in certain games.
Dean Ashton claimed that the youngster shouldn’t think of a big move at the moment, however, he was impressive in Norwich’s 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.
The only goal of the game came from Onel Hernandez in the 54th minute.
Calm with the ball at his feet
According to WhoScored, Godfrey had a pass completion rate of 88%, which was only second to Teemu Pukki in the Canaries team.

The 21-year-old also saw 6% of the possession in the game, only behind three other Norwich players and had 72 touches of the ball, which was the fourth highest in the entire game.
Godfrey still is a little rough around the edges, however, there is no doubting his talent as the Championship is one of the toughest leagues out there.
Norwich haven’t been watertight at the back in recent weeks, with only four clean sheets in 10 games where Godfrey has played.
